For Sale Engel Gato Complete Kit

1:50 scale Engel Gato Fleet Sub Complete Kit for sale.

Partly completed with wood stand. Kit possibly mads in the late 90's, purchased from previous owner (see description below). Seller is located in San Diego (No shipping) direct pickup by purchaser or seller will be willing to deliver as far north as Los Angeles. If interested contact Rob Wood at rwood@hypergold.com

Hull is 80 inches in length.

    I built the stand.

The hull separates to allow access to the interior compartment. Two screws hold it on, one fore and one aft.

The conning tower is the long version. The stock one looked funky.

The dual ballast tanks are the MRC piston driven ones. (electric)

    Dual propulsion motors

I built and hung the struts for the shafts, which have 4 bladed screws. I also built and attached the rudder skeg.

I made new Dive Planes and Rudder.

I obtained extra cast metal hardware (not shown in box) All deck hardware and hatches, 5-inch gun, 40mm gun, 20 mm gun.

All railing stanchions, two cast plastic periscope towers.

Airtronics Gyro, converted to pendulum, for use when submerged. Tied to the dive planes it will accurately maintain periscope depth.

Dave, does he have a price in mind for the sale? It would help potential buyers knowing that ahead of time, I’m sure.

Well, of course I knew that. It's just that I'm a surface warship skipper, with no idea of what to charge. But Cory is happy, and so am I, so it's full speed ahead.

                Thanks for the interest!

                    Your Welcome Rob.

I am glad the boat is going to a new home and will be built up and put to sea where she should be.
