DeBoer Skipjack 1/48th - 4 inch WTC and radio

I have a tested Skipjack in 1/48th scale about 4 feet long complete with WTC and radio system. This is a static diver with snoot system to pump water in/out. Been tank tested and ready for you to finish to your colors. Only issue, is that I can't find the sail planes and will keep looking.

Will send in two boxes. $850 as shown plus postage to your destination. For ConUS buyers, shipping max limit will be $60. Any excess I will pick up. Outside the 48 states will be actual costs less $50. In person pick up will also receive $50 credit.

Paypal for shipped items, cash on exchange for SoCal sales.

Nice looking boat! New owner will need to seal up those wooden bulkheads really well, or replace with water-friendly materials, but this is a really solid looking sub!

I can't remember now, but might that have been my old Skipjack? My first truly running sub, using a WTC3.5... Bob and I did some deals back in the day. It was a good running boat.

Thanks Bob. Hard to but the wood bulk heads are sealed with urethane clear. She is super solid. The hull is 3/8 inch in most places.

Have you sold this yet and did you ever find the sail planes?

              My,...my,...my....talk about coincidence.

I just got back into 1/72 model subs recently (static display) and wanted to get an rc version of the Skipjack.
I just bought a model of the Arkmodel Type VII U-Boat because all models of the Mobius 1/72 Skipjack are sold out before I stumbled across your ad.

Really don't want to let this slip by my fingers.
              Sending you a PM.

In case ya'll are wondering....yeah, I bought it.

This will be my first RC sub to boot...and probably not my last.

My sincerest thanks to roberthusar for making this possible.

I was wondering if you had made any progress on your SKIPJACK? I have a DeBoer 1/48th scale one that I got from Dave Hampton at the Carmel sub meet and want to get it running soon. I can use all the help in the world. Would a wtc using a gas system work as well or better than a snoot system? Just wondering what wtc to buy for it. Thanks, Dave

Looking to take it out to any one of the local ponds in my area soon.
Had to do some repairs on it after a small disaster that occurred when I took her out last time.

As far as WTCs go, a snoot system is best in my opinion because of it's simplicity since I'm one of those "KISS" guys when it comes to anything.
The snoot system I have came with the boat and is a pretty simple design but if you want some expert advice ask Bob Martin over at Nautilus Drydocks, he's the one who refitted my boat for me and he can better tell you what kind of WTC to use since he's worked on a couple of DeBoer boats before.

The other person I would talk too would be Ed Tordahl, his USS Shark is an engineering marvel.....surprised he doesn't actually have a small nuclear plant in that thing.

Ed is a great guy to talk to. He also has a heart and passion to help! Have you painted and done anything to the sub? Would love to see pictures!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Bob painted the sub for me.
He made a video for it on YouTube under the title ....

1:48 Skipjack Class Submarine Deboer Hull.

I'd post the link here but something seems to be wrong with my tablet.
