Wanted: Sombra Labs SL-8 receiver or other horizontal pin receiver.

    Folks,

As the title says, I'm looking for a Sombra Labs SL-8 or other end load horizontal pin receiver for a current project.

I have some Futaba receivers I could trade, speed controllers, and a host of other stuff. Or good old cash.

Please let me know what you've got and are willing to part with.

    Thanks!

How many channels do you need, Jim?

I really only *need* 4 channels, but through out the SL-8 idea for the programmable frequency option. But I'm certainly open to other thoughts depending on what's available.

      Thanks!

Well, I find myself continuing the hunt. Small, end pin 75 mhz receiver needed. Prefer 6 channel or better. Who's got something kicking around they want to let go?

          Jim,

I have the all new Subtech SubCommander VI radio systems now in stock. I can get a SubCommander VI 75 Mhz 6 channel single conversion micro receiver to you with no trouble. I have hundreds in stock. The unit is an end pin super compact receiver. They are $54.95 plus shipping.

I hadn't heard of this... do you have a spec sheet/product info that you can share here?

              Sam,

I just received these units and are working on box art and instructions. But, I'll throw some photos up of the receiver today with basic specifications.
              Best Regards,

Single conversion vs. dual conversion: will these SubCommander receivers work with transmitters like the Futaba/Multiplex/Polks that are usually paired with a dual conversion receiver?

                    Jeff,

Yes! They work perfectly with all of those tranmitters. Dual conversion VS single conversion is just a matter of signal sampling. A well designed single conversion receiver is as good as a dual conversion receiver. In the case of model boats and submarines it is unimportant, but it aids greatly in the design and construction of a micro receiver. The Futaba R114F and R156F are single conversion, and this receiver is based on the R156F design but the case is slightly different.

We have been testing these units since December of 2016 with excellent results. The crystals are, also, readily available.

Excellent! I thought that would be the answer, but I've never had the opportunity to try it.

We will have the SubCommander VI full radio systems available as soon as the box art is completed. This is a fully programmable 75 Mhz 6 channel FM system with channel mixing and programmable presets. The system comes with the SubCommander VI micro FM receiver, heavy duty switch harness, and four servos.

I've been away from kit work for several months now working on the radio supply issue. I think we have that solved now for many years to come while some of the other future radio possibilities for our hobby continue to be developed and refined for the average modeler.

To anyone interested I can vouch for this system as I too recently acquired one from Matt, they are super nice and for the price, a steal.
