    Custom made 3d printed products

I recently opened a shop on Shapeways for selling my custom-made products for model submarines. If anyone has something they would like to have that doesn't exits please let me know and I can build it up and make it available for purchase from Shapeways.com. I can design anything you might need from mechanical parts to characters for props.

Here is my first product. A 31" Prop for Master Replicas Nautilus.

    Hi Chad! Porteous here...

Where were you when I needed scale custom engine nacelle intake louver sets for my big Teskey Seaview, huh? The ones I eventually got from Dennis DeBoer were good, but just not quite right.

Hope the new biz is a big success!

    Best,
    JeffP

How about a 1/48th scale US WW2 submarine 4'' gun? 5'' gun? Single 40mm? Periscopes and radar masts for a US fleet boat?
        I am swooning already...

Porteous, I was in Washington. Where I've been that past year. PM me next time. Or contact Paul or Matt who have my contact info. Post some pics of those DeBoer Seaview parts you mentioned.

To take requests I suppose I would need a few things to proceed. First, some kind of agreed deposit. I imagine the deposit will be based on the uniqueness of your models and whether I could expect to use them to make money on Shapeways. If the demand is high the deposit is low and inversely. It would be a shame to do all the required work then lose business. Next, if you got em, I need blue prints. front, side, and top.

If those two things aren't in your wheelhouse, I can't help you. Sorry, I do not have the time to design blue prints as well as models.

Please PM me if you are serious about commissioning me to build parts.

Lastly, you can likely expect a turn around on the models anywhere from a month to six months depending on complexity. I have a full time job, full time family, and full time life just like you. This is my hobby until I'm paid enough to make it a full time hobby.

          Thanks!

            Chad,

The "where were you" was only a rhetorical question, buddy; those intake louver parts I referred to were at issue way back in '10 or '11... Still, I'll definitely keep you in mind for needed specialty parts in the future! I can't do CAD/blueprints, but if/when the need arises, perhaps I can get someone to provide that skilled labor for me. Would really be nice to see you able to make this into a real and at least semi-profitable business somewhere down the line...translating into more anime subs on your shelf, I'm sure!

            Best,
            JeffP

I'm in no hurry as my bank account keeps reminding me, but I'd like to replace all four screws on my SS United States with the proper screws.

All I need is a profile of the font and side of the prop as well as a $100 deposit, which will go towards your final product and it's a done deal. For something like a prop, I could have the models done in about two weeks give or take a week.

You can even have them printed in most common metals. Brass would be my first guess.

Shoot me a PM if interested please.
