What ever happened to the Silent Service ?
Back in the early 80s when I was new to the submarine service I was walking to the end of a pier when I came a cross the end of a sonar dome on its end, pointing to the sky. It was missing a huge section. I asked about it and Ill I could get was two subs were playing tag. No article in the news, no COs on the chopping block.
