    New UK submarine

But before the Ambush slips into the Irish Sea on her maiden voyage today, the Daily Mirror was given a look at the Royal Navy’s latest weapon

What a beautiful boat! I really appreciate the noticable evolution of the British submarine fleet. It seems they learn faster than we do....What a weapons platform!\

That is very nice. It would make an excellent model.

Two under construction that I know of, one at 1/96th scale by Chris Netherway here in the UK, and the other in 1/72nd by Joel Stadnick.

Personally, I'm not that keen on the lines of this boat. I like the Valiant and Churchill class, but subsequent attack class boats in our navy didn't grab me style wise.

I wonder if it has the standard shag carpeting in the control room

The company where I work, here in Barrow, supplied many items to BAE during the sub's construction. For the role-out we were able to get the bow adornment (not sure of the technical term) and I signed for its delivery at work. The yard (as all we locals refer to the shipyard) then mounted it on the plastic sheet that was attached to the bow. My, minor, claim to fame, as you might say.
