Raalst,
Every time I see your Avatar it cracks me up!Where does it come from? What is that face from?
Yes, the boats which the news articles speak of are Type IIB uboats. There were six of them transported by rail to operate in the Black Sea against Russian shipping. They performed rather well at this task.

May I introduce you to
May I introduce you to Herr Bernt Brot (Mr Bernt Loaf).
I encountered him in a childrens series while camping in Germany.
He suffers from chronic depression among this bouncy co-characters in the
show. And of course, all bad luck befalls him only..
Mist, Doppel Mist ! ( that's @#$%^&*, when translated to english )
He's a star over there. They even gave him his own statue.
here is a readable bit about him :

Raalst,

Raalst,
I clicked on the link you posted about Herr Bernt das Brot! LOL
Was cracking up even more as I read the article.
He sounds like "Neil" from the 1980's British BBC comedy show, "The Young Ones"...as far as being depressed and unhappy all the time.
What sort of luck do you think Herr Brot would have building and commanding his own little submarine? Perhaps the maiden patrol would result in Kapitanleutnant Brot's boat being lost with all servo arms, even after many long hours of careful planning..
He looks like he may be a 3D CGI model.. I'd love to hear his comments if he were transported back in time to April of 1945 and was immediately enlisted into a Volksturm unit tasked with the defense of Berlin!
Thanks for sharing this info about Herr Brot with me, as I really enjoyed it.
Steve
