Doesn't sound like the firefighters
Doesn't sound like the firefighters had air packs or other hazmat gear. It's interesting that the particular photo on the russian website is actually a US DOD photo - here is the caption on the US government website for that pic:
ID: DNSC9600521 Service Depicted: Other Service
An aerial stern-on view of the Russian Northern Fleet AKULA class nuclear-powered attack submarine underway on the surface.
I guess we have better photos of their subs than they do

"In January 1999, its captain, Sergey Spravtsev, was crowned the Hero of Russia for courage and heroism.
According to media, K-317 followed a strategic missile carrying submarine of the United States for 150 hours in a row."
How about this last statement of the article?
I'll bet that the US Navy will asume its responsability to deny vigorously that THIS didn't, wouldn't and will never EVER happen!!
