Australian Collins class to get American - top of the line sonar
A whole combat system for only $355!!! This sounds as bodgy as the navigation system for the "Lost Angeles" class subs
Not that the rest of the article is too accurate either. 5 of the 6 Collins class subs were built right here in Australia (Adelaide), with only parts of the first one (HMAS Collins itself) built in Sweden (not Holland) and assembled here.
The author of the quoted article obviously has a bit more research to do, especially when discussing such awesome pieces of technology as the 688 and Collins attack subs.
