New Mini Sub for the US Special Forces/Navy SEALS.
This uses much of the same infrastructure in Pearl, (you can see the transporter in the background) built for the ill-fated ASDS program, which the article makes it sound like this is the first time the team has had a dry-ingress./egress capability. (ASDS was shipped in April of 2000.)
Just when the program started to yield fruit, (after a long, costly, painful development timeline) one of the SEALs disregarded the battery charging instructions and the boat caught fire, wiping out years of effort. Hopefully this new platform will fare better.
