US Navy's Virginia attack submarines will now fire nuclear weapons
The U.S. Navy is going to have its Virginia-class attack submarines be armed with nuclear warheads, marking a history shift in how the submarines are used.
When the USS Scorpion went down, it was reported to have had, two nuclear torpedoes on board. According to News reports at the time. Interesting. It's just going to make it a pain for the crew. Being some sort of hybrid SSN/SSGN. I wonder what kind of upgrades they will need to implement to radio and fire control to allow for this. Anyways, glad I left my Virginia boat before this.
