The German ein-mann torpedo "Neger" (this was the earlier version)
This shows the young K-Verbande men who ooperated these things.
At best they had a 50% return rate from each sortie.
FYI they would burn a building or cabin on the shore line, at a designated time
and at a designated location for the men to use as a navigational landmark.

A Brit called my attention to the following.
Tag der deutschen Kunst in München - 1937/38.
It was German Art Day in Munich, 1937 and 1938.
What made me a bit uncomfortable was this German (Nazi) propaganda film showing the costumes
and considerable pagentry of two parades in Germany in the late 30's.
And of course the guy with the mustache was working the crowds.
