The Collins class was such a disaster for Australia, one wonders what exactly was being said about the model.

…and you can float the model in your toilet, which is where we would like to place the actual submarines…and then flush

Interestingly I have a resin 1/350 kit in my stash of the Collins class, and it looks identical to the model in the photos

Having spent a few weeks on HMAS Rankin, I can say it was sweet platform that was ruined by availability issues and horrible manning issues. At the time I rode Rankin, they had approximately 3.5 crews available for 6 boats. Granted 2 were in major availabilities, 2 were only local ops cycles and 2 were deployable. But, still a bad setup.

      Cheers,
