I'm anxious to see the new Los Angeles Class Submarines flights I-II-III, 1/350 scale, coming out from RIICH models, I wonder if it is
the Dragon kits repeated, or new tooling. They should be available soon in January 2012.
Re: New for 2012 1/350 scale LA class submarine kits.
Those look like nice kits. Can't say whether they're recycled Dragon kits or not. I'd sure be happy if someone made an injection-molded Sturgeon- (SSN-637) class kit.
Re: New for 2012 1/350 scale LA class submarine kits.
Definitely new tooling as the hull is a 3 piece construct, with a changeable upper decking to represent VLS boats. The old Dragon was a 2 piece hull set. Check out the details:
Early 688 sail
It does appear that the Distributor in the US will be Dragon Models, though. I have not seen any of the various hobby outlets
(Pacific Front, Sprue Bros. etc.) stocking these kits as yet.
