Which S-class submarine do you want to build? See: http://pigboats.com/subs/s-boats4.html
Different designs, different manufacturers (Holland EB, Lake) for the S-class.

Also, read the appropriate S-boat chapter in this online book]http://books.google.com/books?id=7qztw0sO2NgC&pg=PA117&source=gbs_toc_r&ca d=4#v=onepage&q&f=false[/url]
This will give you a flavor for the various S-boat types.

There will be an exam on this material which is 60% of your grade...

Re: SS-163 USS Barracuda & S-Class Sub Plans

Thank you for the help, it certainly has made the S-Class selection a little easier. I have located plans in the US for the S-26 and a set of 1/100 scale model drawings from Poland for the Orp Jastrzab. Will make up into a rather attractive model.
It doesn't appear the SS-163 Barracuda class is such an attractive subject for modelers, as there doesn't appear to be much available. The Maryland Silver site is down as at earlier today.
        Thanks again for your help.

            Hi Marcus,
Thanks for your reply, I had a look at those blueprints and although they make a nice framed decoration that are not detailed enough for a good model.
Unfortunately from bitter experience I have found that finding really good plans is not that easy, especially if the subject is a little unusual like the Barracuda.
Just had the opportunity to examine a really top quality set of plans of the German WW1 U-139. Drawn by Peter Gunter Huff and available from Christian Schmidt in Germany. From these you could produce a magnificent model.
