    HMS Trafalgar Colors

    All,

I'm building Airfix's Trafalgar kit. I want to build it as the Trafalgar with the propellor. Was a propulsor added later? Some pictures I've seen show her to be similar to the Vangaurd (Dark gray with a black bit along the top of the hull). Is that correct for the Trafalgar with a prop?

I hope all this makes sense.

    Thanks for the any guidence.

HMS Trafalgar was the only T class sub never to be fitted with a propulsor AFAIK. Colours varied through their service life and there are pictures of Trafalgar in varoious shades of black. The antiskid on the deck was a different shade,

The HMS Torbay was painted Steel Blue and I beleive is still in that color today, most other were flat or semi gloss black.

Torbay is/was a dark blue down to about the surfaced waterline; photos of an emegency blow and taken from a helo close by in rough seas show the regular color below a certain point (I'm not sure of the exact point and it looked slightly feathered; see some of the photos I linked to on this thread)

Trenchant carried an experimental dazzle scheme for a bit using something close to a sky blue.
