New 1/350 WWII Japanese submarine kits from AFV Club

In case you haven't heard, AFV Club is releasing two WWII Japanese submarine kits in 1/350 scale.

One due out this month is the Type B I-19 submarine with floatplane.

Another out TBA looks like another Type B submarine with a midget on its after deck.

Anyone built any AFV kits? Pros and cons?

    I'll never understand kit manufacturers.

I'll never understand kit manufacturers. Almost nothing for decades, and now TWO kits in 1/350 of the I-19 (the other one is from Aoshima, with 2 photoetch sets offered as a supplement).

Aoshima and AFV Club 1/350 IJN submarines

Thank you so very much for correcting me: In researching the AFV Club offering, I got them mixed up. Yes, AFV Club is releasing a 1/350 IJN I-19 submarine with floatplane. Aoshima is releasing its own I-19 in 1/350 but also an I-27 in the same scale (probably from the same molding) with a midget sub instead of the plane.

What do any of you like or dislike about AFV Club or Aoshima products?

        I cannot comment on AFV

I cannot comment on AFV Club, never seen a model of them.

As to Aoshima, they deliver decent injection molded kits that I would buy in a sealed box anytime.
Models are normally well researched; casting quality is very good, detail is good in representing the original but can be soft sometimes.

In comparison to other manufacturers (my experience is with 1:700 surface ships) I would put them below Dragon but on a par with Pit-Road.
