Online source of 688 Flt. III diagrams, etc.?

Howdy, folks, I'm new here but I'm in a bit of a pickle and I'm wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. I'm a cardmodeler and I'm wanting to build a card model of a Los Angeles-class sub, but the only available model is an early version and I want to modify it to a Flight III. I'm having difficulty, though, finding any good sources online of three-views, diagrams, drawings or anything else that would give me a good idea of what the main external visual differences are between the version the model represents and the Flight III that I want to turn it into.

    Any guidance?

    Thanks.

    There are no online sources

There are no online sources of Los Angeles class submarines drawings or plan sets. You can purchase a decent set of drawings from Deep Sea Designs, which shows the modifications of the later LAs. I'm not certain that these plans have the anhedrals, however.

Thanks, Tom. The photos are quite helpful. I'll check out the plans, too.

        Tom, where'd you get all

Tom, where'd you get all those itty-bitty, teeny-tiny, tiny-teeny, bitty-itty little submarines? They're sooooo cute. I'm surprised that red on the bottom of them isn't pink. They're not very threatening in that size.

          Pete, those are Ralph Ratcliffe's

Pete, those are Ralph Ratcliffe's resin kits in 1/700 scale. Highly accurate & put the old DML 1/700 kits to shame. The scribing is unbelievably fine & detailed. He also makes a Polaris/Poseidon SSBN in that scale. You can make a nice, compact display with these kits.

No way to get a micro WTC in them, I'm afraid.

            Do you need a magnifying

Do you need a magnifying glass to look at those? I bet I could get a couple hundred in my Ohio model.

            They do look very nice.

Well, I do have to say that I switched to 1/350 scale and higher after doing those! I do have a large magnifying lens but you can still get headaches dealing with 1/700 subs.

Hey, there's a challenge; a miniature WTC for 1/700 models. You could run them in your bath tub during the winter...
