    Hi Kevin,
    so far I've ordered

    Hi Kevin,
so far I've ordered my Alanger Akulas, Zvedzda K-19 and K-3 from Pacific Front. Bill ussually gets this Russian stuff very fast so I think he will have them shortly after their release in Russia.

BTW: interesting remarks on the box art.

                    While I still waiting for

While I still waiting for my Typhoon to arrive (it is taking a long time...) here is an in-box review from Internet modeler:

I was fearing the lack of anechoic tiles from the photos available but now this review confirm that. It's a pitty because it will extremelly difficult to do that in that scale from scracht. The same happened with their Akula and Delta.

                        Typhoon

I have received my Typhoon at last (it was lost in the mail for a month and a half!) It is a very nice model. Sort of a shipyard model like the ones from Polar Bear. The model, as the previous Alanger's Akula and Delta IV, has a very smooth surface and lacks many details:
no anechoic tiling, the sail has no details at all (windows are decals and no running lights, vents, etc.) Paradoxically the missiles hatches have a lot of nice details. No torpedoes tubes doors or forward planes doors.
I'm not sure about the props: they look right but the tip of the blades points towards the bow.

It is the most accurate Typhoon plastic model so far. Shape and size are correct, the details are correct (though it lacks many...) the decals are very nice (Arkangels launch in 1983 with the cyrilic signs saying: USA wont pass and the like!) I'm not sure about the color scheme suggested: black hull and red sonar windows. Maybe that was true in 1983???

I'm very happy with it. What else Alanger is going to release in the future?
