Hello there! Newbie here.
I’m looking for some information on the U-Boat type VIID, the minelayer version of the Type VII. I recently acquired the Revell boat.
Where would one find diagrams and/or photos of the later war appearance, where the forward mine tubes were covered over with a deck for flak guns? Was this simply one of the Wintergardens adapted from the type VIIC, on pylons over the mine tubes rather than being enclosed around the base? I have found only one picture, that being on the U218 site, but it is from enough of a distance that by the time you increase the size to where you can see it, it’s too heavily pixilated to make anything out.
