Colors for Tambor class during WWII

I am completing a model of a Tambor class sub modeled during WWII. Any ideas on whether or not it was painted in MS 9 and if so, what exactly does that mean for a Tambor class?

    A simular thread was started

A simular thread was started back in October for the Gato class, Chips provided a very good link to this website; http://www.shipcamouflage.com/submarines.htm. I checked, the tambor class is listed. I'm sure alot of people here would like to see pictures of you project. I know I would.

      I think a lot of

I think a lot of it would depend upon which boat was your subject and at what point in her career you were intending to model her. An early war Tambor would carry Measure 9 but later in the war probably not. A good place to research would be http://www.navsource.org/archives/subidx.htm. Check out their image galleries for Tambor-class boats.

Thanks everyone. I had looked at the first site, but never the second one. I hope to have this model completed prior to Christmas....I'm running out of time. Its going into a shadow box for my father-in-law. I have collected photos of his father serving on board the USS Tuna during the war that will be included. I hope it turns out well. I'm doing a destroyer next.
