Does "Would I buy if built" mean would I purchase a model that was prebuilt by the manufacturer (or someone else) or does it mean, "Would I but the kit if Revell made and sold it"? I suspect you mean the latter...

One must be clear on these things, James.... Too much time being rattled around in the P-3s.....

AND, YES!!!, they announced, at a some model convention, that the model is planned for release at the end of 2006.
It seems that it will be based on USS Cobia (SS245), located in Manitowoc. WI.
For the information and edification of the "Sub Nut"s, who (like me) have carried, their fascination with submarines, from the sublime to the rediculous, here's some info on Cobia.
Cobia is a Gato Class, Drum Variant, built at EB, in Groton, CT, in1943. She was commissioned on 21 Apr 1944.
There are three other Gato-Drum museum boats.
1]USS Drum (SS228) is in Mobile. AL.
2]USS Cavalla (SSK-244) Guppy, Hunter-Killer configuration, in Galveston, TX
3]USS Croaker (SSK-246), similar to Cavalla, in Buffalo, NY
4] USS Flasher (SS-249), WWII conning tower only, Groton CT.
I find it interesting that, of the four survivors, of this Class, and Variant, three are sisters, 244, 245, 246.
It is assumed (and hoped) that those members, living near one of these boats, will go take lots of pictures and notes. And will share them with the rest of us.

i have bought 3 Revell 1/72 U-boats and 2 1/72 atali resin U-boats
just got 2 1/72 type XXIII U-boats. 1 from IPMS show. 1 from TriDent.so bring them on Revell

Would I buy one? Is this a trick question? Of course I would buy at least one, and probably several, over time. Most of us grew up building Revell models, and now they are manufacturing models of a size and quality that appeals to a broad spectrum of model builders.
For the R/C set, they are the right size and price for conversion, and for the static modellers they hold the promise of a model that can sit on a mantel or in a display case and not look like a toy. They did it with their Cutty Sark, Thermopoly and Constitution. I'm glad that they are doing it with more contemporary ships.

I pushed the wrong button,& didn't get my "vote"
entered,but I will definitely buy one,& most likely Two.
If Revell does'nt give us enough bits for at least two
optional builds,I'm sure the Aftermarket Wizards will
properly entice & confuse us within a matter of weeks
after the release.

??? I definitely want one!! I'm DROOLING for one! Only problem for me is the size. I live in a two bedroom apartment and finding space for such a large display model might be a problem. Wish they had done it in 1/96 scale.
