From the reviews I've read, it seems that you'll be better off choosing another kit than using this one, I've built one of these similar kits, mine was a Type VIIc U-571 and uses the basic hull and motorizing system. The overall kit is quite to scale judging by the eye of an onlooker but if you look closely you can find several errors, the most obvious is that the model has a complete different aft section than the real boat, one single rudder, one prop, to accomodate the motorizing feature. It's good for RC but if you're looking for a model that's more up to scale, might want to pass this one. One is the Mini Hobby Models' U-107, check out my review on the Uboat.net site.
