    Hi Guys,

Thanks to Apple, I reformatted my web page for pics of my u-boat model. As a result, I have a new address.

    Thanks for looking.

    Take Care,

              I used MM Rust, mixed

I used MM Rust, mixed with Neutral Gray. I realize now, though, that rust is actually more yellow. I weather with oil paints now. I'm weathering a uboat right now using Rembrandt raw sienna, burnt sienna and burnt umber.

I've been studying iron oxides for the last ten years of my life. Corrosion products from steel have many different colors depending on it's history ranging from yellow, orange, red, brown or black. Fresh rust from a wet steel surface is yellow or orange yellow (mostly goethite), it's turns brown (maghemite) with time as it dries. If the rust crust is thick enough you can find black magnetite beneath the brown surface.
