    CN Models - Dimensions?

    Dear people,
I was doing a search and found the CN submarine models in ebay. I bought an Akula (actually an Alfa in disguise) and even if the model has a lot of innacuracies is a good starting point for kitbashing. I would like to use the hull of a Los Angeles class, seawolf or virginia class and found that CN models has them.

Is anybody here in possesion of one of these kits so kind to let me know the actual external diameter and lenght of the hull? (from the scale in the case of Los Angeles class should be 4 cm but I wonder if the model has this accurate)

    Thanks a lot!!

    Are you saying that the

Are you saying that the Akula kit is the same as the Alfa kit? If so, both subs should have the same dimmensions, for the Alfa the hull is about 40 cm long and 4.7 cm wide (not sure if that includes the diving-planes).

      If you're using the hull

If you're using the hull for a Seawolf class, why not try Trumpeter's 1/144 version? Looks big enough for the job.

        I own all of those

I own all of those CN models, the Alfa and Akula which one is listed as 1/200 scale while the other is a1/250 scale..yet they are the same sub in the box!
The Seawolf version is more or less a LA Class sub made to look the part of a Seawolf class sub.. Trumpeter did a far better job on the kit except for the fitting togeth of the hull.
        CN fit perfectly together..

            That is a BIG question

That is a BIG question since I can't find any, I found all mine off EBAY and that was PITA to get if somebody was really bidding higher and higher..

I have a Seawolf unfinished under my bed, really not much work do to it...

I'm planning to use the hull for kitbashing it for a diesel boat (TR1700) in 1/144 (in the plans seems that the stern shape is almost correct for that). The Trumpeter Seawolf is too big for my project.

I have the Akula and it is clearly not an Akula! Is the Alfa!!. The bow is wrong even for the Alfa. It's more like a cone than the dome like shape the plans suggested

As for the source of these models: the only one I find is from ebay (a guy in Hawaii) and nowhere else.

                  thanks!!!

The Virginia class is the same hull as the Seawolf? I mean, of course, that of the model.

BTW: I've never saw any CN sub in normal auction, they are ever as Buy Now

Another question on the CN models.
How bad is the Los Angeles class as a scale model? I mean, it's size is much better than the DML Dragon kits. Is there anything really bad with that model?

I'm sorry I thought that CN models has just one Los Angeles class sub model. In any case how does the 688 Los Angeles class (whatever version) from CN models looks like? It is accurate or it has some erros that cannot be repaired without major surgery?

                              Thanks
