Type XXIII in 1/144 scale - New kit

Just saw in the new Fine Scale Modeler a notice that ICM is bringing out a 1/144 scale Type XXIII. It may take a long time to show up, still waiting for a WWII crusier( two years and counting). But their WWI,1/350 German Battleship is a great model even if a little over priced. It would look nice next to all my Revell Type XXI's.

    Dan-
    that's going to end up

    Dan-
that's going to end up being a small model, but I don't know of anyone else that makes any Type XXIIIs, except for Accurate Armour's 1/35 waterline version.

      Sam, 1/700 would be small!

Sam, 1/700 would be small! In 1/144 the XXIII should be around 12 inches. If it is as detailed as many of their 1/48 airplanes it should be a great kit to put next to the Revell XXI.

          you're right...for some reason I was thinking 1/350, not 1/144. I have a Type VIIC/41 in resin in 1/350. That's a tiny model.
Anyway, I've started work on my 1/24 scale Type XXIII, so I have plenty of model to detail. I will still keep an eye out for this one, though. I still think the XXIII is a neat little submarine.

So how did your kit turn out?

How big and do you have any pictures to post?
