    BigDave might be too big.

BigDave might be too big. I think he's asking, could a 7x43 cm tube fit?

      I am not sure about

I am not sure about your conversion.

max width of hull is 7.6 cm. It keeps this width
for about 40 cm, then tapers off on both sides.

      2.75 inch = 7 cm
a tube of 7 cm dia can be a max 48 cm long.
      48 cm = 18.9 inch.

That's the most complicated "yes" I have
      given in a long time

Art, you beat me to it..

        Sorry about the extra 1.

Sorry about the extra 1. I guess 17 would be way to big. Must be my chubby little fingers on the keys. Thanks for catching that Art. That is the answer I wanted to hear though. Thanks Ronald, Dave.

            Tower Hobbies is taking orders

Tower Hobbies is taking orders for them. Their website says that they will be available in mid December. The stock number is LXHSM8. The price is $24.99. I have had great service from them and their shipping is reasonable.

              Thanks to a friend in

Thanks to a friend in Japan I just received my SSN21. Not bad work with all things considered. Some of the scribing is incorrect, the wide apperature array is not correct in placement, shape, and size. The PJ shroud is too small and not long enough. The sail is too squat and missing lots of detail. The lower hull detail is not correct either. The taper on the stern is also incorrect. The complete set of stern appendages will need to be replaced. They are not correct or fuctional for R/C. It is obvious that this model was built off of the early NAVSEA prints from 1996 which reflect almost all of the detail the way this boat has been portrayed. This boat will be easily convertible to R/C though. It has a lot of room! For the money you cannot beat it!

              Thanks for the boat Yoshi!

                    YoDa, did your hull halves

YoDa, did your hull halves fit correctly ?

Mine seem to be bent or of different length. They do not fit
                    nicely.

Your conversion is nice work !
How did you glue the nose parts together ?
What glue did you use ?

                      I ve just took some

                      Hi,

I ve just took some quick picture with my webcam as usual

on my kit, the hull didn't fit correctly, the port side join but i ve got a big hole on the starboard. so, i will fill this hole with evergreen part.

Concerning the assembly of the nose part and the hull, i use CA+ toilet paper , it s magic

mastic is your friend on this kit............

Congrats for u guys who got her, me? I'm waiting to fetch her as soon as she's 'docking' in the local hobby shop (which I think will be for another 1 or 2 months )

I never build an R/C model before, but really tempted to do so, it's my fave subs and looking for the correct hull for R/C.

anyone know where I can have a basic guide to start?

                            Still waiting for my Trumpeter

Still waiting for my Trumpeter Seawolf. It looks very promising for rc but from the pictures I'm seeing posted that sonar dome looks wrong!!! Matt Thor mentioned the stern taper is off and some other flaws with the WAA but nothing has being mentioned about the bow. The real thing, like the Virginia class, is more rounded and doesn't taper down like the Trumpeter model. I was hoping it would be as bang on as the Kilo but it still looks like a great project.

Matt, your thoughts on that dome?

                              Guys,

                              Consider the Trumpeter Seawolf kit

                              Guys,

Consider the Trumpeter Seawolf kit a "stand way the #### off" kit. Scale it is not. I am extremely disappointed in it. If they would have done even basic homework they would have discovered most of the flaws that they have built into the kit. The bow is WAY off the mark, not even close. The Kilo is a MUCH better kit than this. But ,as we have mentioned before, this kit will be a lot of fun regardless of the multitude of inaccuracies I placed mine on a shelf of "too be built in the future" models. No time right now. If anyone is interested in it, drop me an email. I have no enthusiasm for the project right now.

                                Your right, Matt. Drydock shots

Your right, Matt. Drydock shots of the Seawolf have been around for years. At the minimum they should have got something as simple as the bow correct! I'm still going to plow ahead with the project but I think I might saw that bow off and give it a new one as much of a pain in the #### butt that's going to be!!!!
