Revell 1:72 U-boat: Where is the sail hatch wheel?

I see nothing in the instructions nor do I see a hand crank for the sail hatch. Was this left off on purpose? Also, I hope someone comes out with a brass wintergarden rail as mine was broken in several places. I got it glued together but it's way too fragile for RC use.

    If I were going to

If I were going to r/c this model, I'd probably get rid of anything that resembled styrene that is related to guns, railings, dive planes and rudders, prop shaft, prop shaft supports, periscopes, antennas, net cutters...hmmm...I guess that leaves just the hull, deck and conning tower. And I'd still trade the deck for an etched one...

      The round railing set you

[color=#000000]The round railing set you mention is probably a job best fabricated by hand from wire/rod. I am including side railings in the photoetch kit, but they will not be strong either. For more strength you should redo all the railings in rod. You could use the PE set as a template when bending. In fact, I suppose I should just include little 1]

I have the Amati kit, and at 1/72 scale, the flat nature of the railings is fairly evident in photoetch. I agree, rod is the way to go. Having 1]

            Sam, I have that Amati

Sam, I have that Amati also. I agree with you on the railings being flat. I may just forego those and stick to including templates. No use wasting plate space on them I guess.

Ronald your idea is interesting. I put the rails on a scanner and squeezed them out flat, but the clay idea would also be successful I think.

I don't see a hole to mount it in. It's just a strange oversite.
