Do you see any problems machining the clear plastic used in the stern and right side if doing an RC conversion? Clear plastic tends to be brittle compared to regular styrene.

Yeah, "ouch" at $429.
I just got a note from eBay that one of the ones I had been watching there had its price dropped to $398.
Compared to what I paid for the 1/35th schnellboot and the 1/35th PT boat, $400 still seems a bit steep (especially if you throw away most of the interior to make it R/C.) Still, very tempting.
