Replacement decking for 1/72 scale Lindberg IJN sub

If one does not have the time for cutting individual planks out of wood veneer, what Plastruct styrene planking would work for this boat? The decking as it is is way out of scale. If they were 1:1 they would surely be over a foot wide.

At one time I thought of taking this model RC. But I am a poor man and I just can't afford it. So making this beast more accurate in static is within my price range. But what planking would work here?

Sorry. I asked this question before and forgot. That beast is just sitting in my storage shed. I think it's growling . . .
