    New Halibut kit coming.

I was never a fan but it is actually a cool looking sub.
I could see KMC doing a larger RC version with a real launching missle.
Now that would be cool. BD

YEP! That was a surprise I thought the 575 stretch spook version would be the next one out.
They hooked me on that one Dave, it will look good next to my Grayback.

I absolutely love the Halibut. I just wish the kit was larger then 1/350.

That would be a mighty nice boat in 1/96th!
        Regards,

At that scale you could make functional Regulus missiles.

I'm holding out for a British M-1 in 1/72, with the gun in .45 Long Colt.

Seems like the right place to share this. Rendered cutaway in final special missions configuration, based largely on the plans in the latest SubCommittee report. The only detail which was added beyond my artist's side profile also in that report is the forward-aft thruster under the stern.

Hal, Thanks for posting this incredible drawing. I was unaware of the fore and aft thruster under the stern.

I am happy to see you placed the Univac 1224 up in the corner. The incorrect 1124 designation from Blind Man's Bluff is all over the Internet. I contacted some ex Univac (Sperry) employees, and they sent me a lineage chart of Remington Rand Univac/Sperry computers. There ain't no 1124 model. I also have (which I think I sent you) part of the operating manual for the 1224. The 1224 was originally built for the NSA back in 1964, and a small production run ensued. The physical size and description (32K RAM, 24 bit address) fits the Blind Man's Bluff computer. It was probably as good as the late 1970's HP scientific calculators. I have not been able to find out the function of the computer; my best guess is that it calculated where the submarine had been in the acoustic transponder net when making sweeps to find objects. Prior to searching an area, the Halibut would deploy transponders bracketing the search area, and then begin "mowing the lawn".
