SS 166 USS Argonaut

Originally designated V-4 and built as a minelayer. Later converted to troop transport and along with Nautilus, to transport and land Marine Raiders on Makin Island in the Gilberts for the Makin Island Raid. It was lost in January, 1943 from depth charging and gun attacks by Japanese destroyers.
