    The crawler worked amazingly well, that was its first time running underwater. The air bubbles were just escaping from the frame underneath, the box stayed dry. As mentioned in the video, its an old 4wd RC truck with the original motor/radio removed and a new dry box added with a toothed belt drive and a sail winch servo moving the original steering arm via a flex shaft. The 'mines' on the string hold the string up to give a place to grab it with the hook-on-a-stick to get it back out of the pond. It was a big hit at the Carmel regatta, and won the Big Dave Engineering Award. Dave would have loved it!


    Overall, the reagatta was a LOT of fun, a great group of captains and a huge fleet of subs!


    And for the record, the name in the first post should be "Chris R" - no problem!
