using servo for a prop. divetank - somebody try this before ?

Hi all, I am making a small (20 ml) dive tank for my kilo,
I just wondered if somebody else ever tried this setup
(it's a proportional control at about zero cost except the
    servo..)

the servo's build-in variable resistor (the round black & silver
thingy) will be replaced by the sliding style one.
The stop which normally limits travel to 90 deg. has been
    filed off.

    the syringe cost about $1

the axle of the servo is bored up to 2.5 mm, and a
M3 thread is tapped in it.

Only weak point is how long this plastic thread will last
in operation. However, instead of the axle I can mount a
    nut if necessary.
