    Rudders and planes:

I had to mark and drill each rudder and plane where the rod exited each unit. Each was drilled, leaving a slightly larger than actual gap to allow full throw in either direction. The planes and rudders were attached and each throws nicely.

        Cleats:

The photo below shows the cleats on the Redoutable that unlike their American counterparts are not retractable. With a boat of this size and scale, I feel it would be advantageous to model these rather prominent features.

When rehearching this boat, many of the "at sea" shots show this do-hickey on the bow. I'm not sure what it is, but i'm sure someone can chime in with an explanation. Whatever it is, it's getting modeled. 3d designed and printed again....

            The sail:

The sail came as a one piece unit. I have decided not to make the sail planes movable....as such they were simply glued in place.

The periscopes and masts were designed with CAD software and printed on my 3D printer.

                Hi Marius

Files need to be saved in .STL format. Then they are converted to another file type called .THING for printing. The printer has its own software that converts .STL to .THING and prepares it for printing.

                  WTC Saddles:

The cylinder for this boat is a custom built OTW cylinder. Bob was kind enough to make the ballast tank a bit bigger for this beast.

The saddles to hold it in place were designed and 3D printed.

The machine screws are in place in order to stretch a rubber band across and keep the WTC from floating up. There are back braces in each saddle to make a solid bulkhead on each end to keep the WTC in place horizontally.

                    Prop shaft bulkhead:

#d Printed and installed to keep the prop shaft in its correct position. The provided 7 blade screw has been installed as well.

                      Battery and battery compartment:

The battery for this boat is an 11.4v 5000mah lipo, sealed and waterproofed in a hard plastic case. It will sit in the wet, forward of the WTC.

I built saddles for the battery to sit in, and will use simple rubber bands stretched over the saddles and connecting over machine screws to keep it in place. The power wire acts as the on/off switch.

Linkages are done and in place. Each rudder and plane is on its own rod so I can finely adjust them individually.

Trimming is complete. It got delayed while I waited for lead weight to show up. She goes to the pond this weekend.
