Micro or standard servos for Revell IX Conversion

Proceeding with conversion slowly! Was looking for advise on what servos to use? From experience would people think the micro ones are powerful enough or are full size ones needed? The ones I have seen have a 1kg max torque whatever that is!

Any advice or experience would be great.

    Thanks

I use Micro servos in my boats.
    1:144 scale to 1/72 scale.
    So far no problems.
If you understand that the control surfaces on submarines are usually balanced to over come the pressure forces of the control surfaces moving through the water.
Most are about 30/70 percent on the control shaft so a lot of servo force is not needed.
The servos I have been using are HXT900 servo information.

If you look around the net, you can find them for less than $2.50 each.
I buy them when I need them. Usually 12 or 24 at a time.
I also use these servos as motors.
Requires about 10 minutes to convert this servo.

Here's a image of my current project.
3 servos and two servo motors as winches.

The tray goes in a 3.5" cylinder and is about 10" long.
Everything but the battery is there. The battery goes forward under the water bladder.

This little servo has 1.6kg of torque.

Ditto on micro servos, I use the exact same ones Ralph has shown. More than enough power and response for our usage.

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
