    Watertight propeller shaft

    Hi everyone,

I am looking for watertight propeller shafts. I have found ones from Raboesch, but I would like to know is somebody have experience with them.
I have asked them (Raboesch), but without success .
The catalog says "watertight", but I wonder ... "until which pressure?" I do not pretend my model to go under 2 or 3 meters undewater, but it would be fine to not have "accidents" by this cause.

The following is the website link to the page where the shaft is.
The model that I want to use is the 301-11

Any help or comments about other watertight shafts will be very welcome .

    Re: Watertight propeller shaft

I have a smaller version of similar to that, a M4 Graupner. All it really means is that there is another inner sleeve within the prop housing that free spins on bearings, but the one your looking at has a bearing only on the end on the sleeve. They're typically used on high RPM boats to reduce friction. As for water tight, they're no better or worse then any of the other sets out there and yes, it is always a good idea to pack grease into the housing before you put the shaft in.

How big is your boat? the coupling end is only 2mm wide and that's a M2 prop end. For my subs at least I won't be going below a M3 or M4 because of the extra torque needed when submerged, and my stock parts for one of my kits is already a M4 or M5.
