    Tintin's submarine

Where can you get a kit, model or hull of Tintin's shark submarine?

You make one from scratch. Not a difficult hull type to turn on a lathe, being spindle shaped. Or you could try traditional plank-on-frame (known as lapstrake in U.S) or bread and butter techniques if a lathe isn't available.

...known as plank-on-frame here in the U.S. as well.....

Fair enough. A plank on frame construction would be straightforward enough, as the bulkheads can be drawn out with a compass, and you could use a piece of tubing for the keel, ensuring accurate alignment. This boat is streamlined and agile, so a good fun subject to build and run.

Trying a quick and dirty static build in 72 scale. I picked up a Messerschmitt Me 262 B-1a U1 and I'm basing the sub on that.

              Last tweak!

The aft diving planes needed updating.

                Looks a lot like a ME-262 fuselage.
Frames and planks should work just fine to duplicate on this subject.

                Or frames and foam.
Cover with fiberglass then remove foam.
Make sure to remove the frame centers first. It's not easy after the glass is in place.

                  Thanks, Ralph,

I'm kitbashing a 72 scale styrene kit right now. And I'm tweaking as I go. There are plenty of models of the ME-262 in many scales.

Here is what I have done so far.

I'm just starting to work on the mouth of the shark today.
