Looking for the Simmering type shaft seals for a 1/4" shaft. Engel only goes to 5mm I believe. I'm thinking even 6mm would be fine since 1/4" is 6.35. Prefer the type with the retaining spring. Any info would be appreciated.

I reckon either would work well, just a small nitrile oil seal. They're a good company to deal with, very fast shipping on UK orders. Not sure about international, but expect they'll be fine. Any probs just give me a shout and I can order them up and forward them onto you.

Thanks. I'm amazed too. Most of the companies are manufacturers with huge minimum orders. I have looked for hours and came up with very little.
Will place and order and see how it goes.

That tends to be case over here if you want to shop with the main distributer.
For instance BSL brammer distribute the Freudenberg/Simrit range of seals here in the UK, the makers of the original 'simmerring' and other nice little exotics seals like 'Airzet' rings. They won't entertain orders of less than 25 seals, although the prices are good it puts you in the position of being a wholesaler.Comment

I have bought simmering seals from here http://www.rocketseals.com/ I did ask if they were made in imperial and I was told no only in metric. that was a couple years ago maybe things have changed.sigpic. You have to ask yourself one question...would the admiral approveComment
