    Bronco Type XXIII build

I just started on my Bronco 1/35 type 23 build.
Hope to have it done for the regatta.
Out of all the subs I have the 23 which I have loved since I saw Skips run around 1980 has alluded me.
Never did get a 32P kit but this one blows it away in detail.
    I forgot.
I actually do have a very nice hull kit I got from DH.
    But never started it.
There is just something about that U boat that is ultra-cool.
I mean its kind of homely but I like it.
    More info soon. BD.

ithe XXIII is one of my all time favorite boats. what are you going to do for the ballast system?

don't forget that OTW makes a beautiful version in 1/25 too.

OTW makes a very nice kit.
It builds into a beautiful boat.

One thing that impressed me on the Bronco kit is the weld lines.
They are not just lines, they look like scale welding bead.
      Very nice.
I am installing one of my new UNI 2.5 cylinders in my 23. BD.

Hi Big Dave. How do I get my hands on one of your UNI 2.5 cylinders? In other words, "Who do I have to kill to get one?"

            Re: Bronco Type XXIII build

I spent the last two days designing the rear linkage and prop shaft assembly.
I based my design for the rear assembly on the idea that Manfred showed in his XXIII build on RCG.
I liked how he mounted everything on a assembly that is removeable instead of hard mounting it all to the hull.
I will go into more detail later. BD.
Sorry somehow the photos got rotated.

              Sadly Greg is correct.
I have had so many requests for the new system and have just not had the time or incentive to finish the manual.
Being in and out of the hospital the last few months has slowed me up.
I am starting to feel much better now so I have to thank Greg for kicking me in the a$$ and pestering me to build him one.
I am using his build to finish my building procedure and manual.
So don't give up hope those interested in the UNI 2.5. BD.
BTW Greg you are a PITA!

Is there a waiting list for your new UNI 2.5 cylinders? Because, I don't think I can hold my breath that long Dave!

I've been waiting for 2 years for this cylinder! Dave got me all fired up at the last Regatta after a long chat we had. I can't wait to get mine, but I guess I will have to. Take care of yourself, buddy!! We need you....

                    Nice Dave,

To me it seems to be a much lighter construction as mine, i'm delighted to see people use my design, i'll keep a close watch on your progress.

I made a bulkhead master and mold today.
This way I only have to get it right once.
If you need more than one part of the same type and molding rubber it is the only way to go. BD.

                        Manfred.
I always like to build light and not over engineer.
Sticking with the stock K&S brass sizes and using the thin fiberglass sheet for the rear bulkhead.
I will be screwing the hull together as you did but not sure how yet.
I will be using the two 123 batteries for power housed in the small 1.25" cylinder that will be under the bladder section in the center of the boat.
This is very similar to my Skipjack build but not so involved.
The control section of the UNI 2.5 cylinder is sitting in the rear of the 1/2 hull.
This section has the motor, two full sized servos, ESC, and R/X. BD.

Hi Dave, did you use normal solder and an soldering iron to put the frame together ?
or silversolder with a torch ? or maybe glue ?

All the joints are silver soldered with a torch.

You have to love the oval subs Matt like the 23 and 17.
Great room for batteries/keel weights. BD.
