    been gone a long while..got a question

    Hi,
I have been away from RC subs a long while. When I left the Revell 1/72 gato boats were being converted to diving boats. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how they worked out? Do they have working bow planes? What is the length? Also is there a kit made now for the conversion? I have a Engle Gato that I was reworking but never really liked the large size.
    thx!

They work very well. Most have working front planes, but it's optional. They're about four feet in length.

Conversion kits wise, there are two I know of on the market. Big Dave's conversion set- http://www.frontiernet.net/~bwelch/

Although the website says this conversion kit isn't presently available.

We also have the Caswell kit. This is very comprehensive with pretty much everything you need to convert the Revell kit.

The fittings kit is available separately if you want to mix and match, or perhaps grow your own dive system.

Here is mine on an early run.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
