        Protech did a range of motors, which included a 500 size motor of pretty much identical spec, but at half the price of the Graupner motors. Unfortunately they discontinued the range after a couple of years.

        Engel do a low revving speed 500 size motor, does about 5000RPM on 12 volts, and is used direct drive in their Lafayette and 212 kits, and is also used in the 12 volt piston tanks over 500ml volume.
