There are way too few models available of Jules Verne's NAUTILUS. So this one will be very welcome even if it looks a bit odd.

Would rather see a model kit of yours, Leelan. Some are just strange thingies with "Nautilus" attached. IMHO

No, I don't think so. My pockets aren't that deep.

Years ago I sculpted a prehistoric whale ( look here. ) Many people encouraged me to make a kit out of it since there are damn few models of Basilosaurus to be found. So I did. I sent the sculpture to the premiere dinosaur model caster in the business. Cost me $500 to get the mold made. Then more to cast each kit in quality white resin. I advertised in Prehistoric Times. I needed to sell five to break even. Eventually I sold two --- but only after I cut the price by more than half. I lost my shirt.

So no more kit making for me. Until I win the Lottery.

I haven't made any of these subs. I just found them and posted them for inspiration.

BTW the NAUTILUS kit that started the thread was delayed until the first quarter of 2013. I like the Victorian look of her. But the "frog eyes" . . . They just won't work as windows for the pilot to see out of --- except to port and starboard. I will have to change that when I buy the kit.

And the ram looks a little delicate.

And the Salon windows a little frou-frou. But WTH.
