Hi all are there any drawings or plans for making a 7-bladed Scimitar Prop ? or some good straight on and side shots would be great, I need a couple of big 5.25" props for a couple of LA Class boats, and Don't feel like shelling out 150+ green backs for a single prop,
Have you checked with Al Matava of Ships n' Things? He carries several lines of props...and I am fairly certain that the prices are no where near $125 per unit!
The largest he has is a 5 incher, with a 1 1/4" hub for 105.00, and doesn't have a qty. listed, besides I always wanted to make my own screw any way, do you have any ideas on how I can make a 7 blade 5 1/4" scimitar prop ?
You could try David Merriman @ D&E Miniatures.He made a resin 1/48th prop specifically for the 688s.Last I knew it was $60.00. 5 1/4" dia, hub base 1 1/8",hub length 1 7/8 bore for 3/16 shaft
and it worked ? j/k resin, ehh, I wanted a nice pair of brass screws, raalst check in the vendors list, i think either floating dry dock or ships'n things, and a how to on there site, I know one of those vendors I clicked on had one
