    Hey Chuck,

Here is a link to the documentation on the connectors.
    http://www.souriau.com/fileadmin/Souria ... Series.pdf

These are a twist-lock bayonet type connectors with an internal gasket making them waterproof.
They are solid locking and seem very quality.
    I purchased them from Digikey.

Re: 1/48 USS GRAYLING SSN-646 STURGEON BUILD

I have made a fair amount of progress over the past few weeks and thought it was time for an update.
The first pic here shows the new CNC cut fittings for the Control Module.
I want to thank Jeff LaRue for helping me out with some of the finer details for the discharge and suction grates.
Jeff's fine photo etch parts which he sells for the 1/96th scale boats was just to small for these fine hole details.
We both thought even at 1/48th scale might not work but as you can see...it worked fantastic.
In order to drill holes at roughly the size of a human hair, I had to dig deep into the net to find these type of drills.
I got lucky and found a site which specializes in these type of micro drills made for PCB board work.
I bought 3 of them and loaded one into the CNC and crossed my fingers.
I was able to get these right on the first try without breaking the bit.
I am just amazed that a big machine like this can drill and mill such a delicate piece....just amazing.

Also hot out of the machine shop facility is the outer hull for the Control Module!
The fit to the aft section mated just as designed.
Now it is time to finish up the milled exterior detail parts and then move into the inside with the WTC for this section.
        Lot's to do....

          Tom,

They look great with all the correct holes!

I hate how builds get interesting then stop.

Well, it is far from stopped.
I am currently recovering the costs from what has been done thus far before going any farther.
I am back in the design phase again on this latest section.

This..is an impressive build. Even down to the little guys standing around!
I have not posted my Borei build in a while, but it is going along slowly. I will post pictures when it looks like something changed. I have a lot of hours in fit of the halves, but waiting to get the tube in primer before posting. It wont be long.
However, my methods are pretty loose and basic. This build is one of the most precise, detailed, I have seen.
I do like following this one. No matter what I do, this build will badly out class mine for sure.
                Awsome!

Tom, would you consider making some of these grates and ballast vents for the 1/48 Moebius Skipjack? I think they would work as is.

                    Casey,

I like your thought, but isn't the Moebius 1/72 scale??

                    B^)

You are correct. I had 1/48 on my mind I guess.
