Bolt material query

Any recommendations on bolt material for my scratchbuilt Vii please. They are bound to get wet (although not salt water) and are not going to get dried out properly.

Stainless would be the best obviously but are difficult to source. In your experience can I get away with bright zinc coated?

I'd go with stainless. Zinc plated bolts have an irregular surface and are bound to rust in time with all damage due to wrenches and screwdrivers. Moreover the looks of stainless is much better (that counts too don't you think).

Here in the Netherlands any hardware store can supply stainless steel bolts and screws so it shouldn't be too hard.

I found R/C aeroplane shops

I found R/C aeroplane shops sell plastic bolts.
These are nice if there is not too much pressure
applied.
