      Good link ,Tim.
However,I just bought a skyport futaba with all those brand new servos.I think the 148's are diffrent than mine.I have S3004' or S3002's.Something like that.Seems a shame to toss them to the side.

        Wayne,

        To my knowledge, no one

        Wayne,

To my knowledge, no one makes a linear servo conversion kit for your servos. You'll have to buy the ones the kit was made for.

You can always sell or swap your current servos. You wouldn't have to toss them...

          Hey Ramius,

          You may want to

          Hey Ramius,

You may want to check out Robbe.de for the dimensions of your servos. Chances are that the only difference between your servos and the servo for the kit is internal (more powerfull engine ball bearings, etc.) Contact Robbe to be sure.

            If your servos can not

If your servos can not be fitted with one of those conversion kits why not make one yourself. If you take apart old 5 1/4" diskdrive you'll find exactly the same mechanism do position the head of the drive. Older harddisks may also have it but I haven't seen it yet.

              Why not try the 'Line

Why not try the 'Line Drive' mechanism sold by Al Matava at Ships 'n Things, and by other vendors? It converts rotary servo output to linear.

                I have seen linear servo's

I have seen linear servo's in the ultralight R/C plane
                environment.
Maybe these are a solution. they are complete
servo's, but without casing (and not much torque)
