War of the Worlds—as a submarine?

Steve Neill. Here is something for your next foray into strange items to R/C as subs, it's the alien spacecraft from the original War of the Worlds movie. This thing looks pretty cool, and that creepy eye thing would make for a neat periscope above the water.

Just thought you'd like another challenge.

Pete that's a great idea but I'm going back to tradition next on a type 17 I have sitting here some guy named Steve Neill made.

This looks like a job for Super BD!

And a red LED in that eye thingy. Ooooh!

Makes me want to see that stupid 1950s movie again.

            Cool idea!
Won't the high periscope, together with the short length, produce stability issues?

Add a speaker with the scary death beam noise!

Mars aliens would love water since they didn't have much towards the end. They would have engineered their machines to operate as submerged vehicles to wipe out 1950's submarines and ships on the surface. Could have been another segment in the movie!

The book was orignally written in the 1890's decades ahead of its time. Wells describes heat rays, and lazer technology wasnt even theorized as weapon technology until the 50's.

A lot of his books are outdated by modern standards but his subjects such as war in the air, were way ahead of anyone else.

the body of that ship would be a cool stingray...

about weird SF subjects : Just got this picture of a quadrocopter in an advertisement.
that enterprise can use a bit of Steve Neill Skill
