    attaching prop to shaft?

    hey guys,
I have a 1/72nd brass 5 bladed prop "I think for an Alpha," the prop is threaded, this is what I am going to use on my Sturgeon until I can get a scale brass 7 blade prop for it. Are these just held on with a locking nut? I was thinking of drilling out the threads making a hole all the way through the hub and run the 3/16" shaft all the way through and solder on a brass cone at the tail of the prop shaft. This is what i did on another sub just to keep from looseing the prop. Thanks. Jeff J.

Yes a locking nut a drop of thread lock works fine for me. Never lost a prop.

I drill a hole in the side of the hub and tape-n-drill 4-40 on all props threaded or not then mill a slot on the shaft in the right spot.

If you really want to make sure your prop will stay put, pinning it thorough the shaft takes some beating.
