    Alrosa PJ round 6

    Call me stupid!!
    Go ahead!!
I just can't let this thing go.
So I am attempting yet another try at this disaster.
This time I will be moving the PJ back about 3/4" so I can open up the input and increase the flow through the impeller.
It will also give we more room to add the section to the rudder I had to cut off for the original PJ.
Then there is always more HP!!!
My Kilo is set up for different sized motors.
I feel like Dr Frank-n-steeen!! BD.

Here are a few more photos.
I made a cone to extend the stern on the lathe and a new front bearing assembly for the PJ.
Now I will assemble, paint, and make the rear surfaces their original size. BD.

      Re: Alrosa PJ round 6

I hade to make some molds today with gave me some free time to work on the Alrosa.
I finished her up and gave her a try with the same motor and there seemed to be a marked improvement in the thrust.
Then the Tim the tool man in me kept saying More Power!!
So I switched out my low amp long run time motor for my high amp short run time motor just to see the difference.
As Robin use to say "Holly Cr-p Batman!!" Or something like that anyway!!
      What a difference!!
I could really feel the Alrosa pushing against my hand and the container of water looked like a Bass-a-matic!!
Now I can't wait to get her back in the pool next month!!
I even think it looks cooler with the PJ mounted further back.
Well stay tuned to this bat channel for more results after the test next month. BD.

          Looking good Dave!!
Course, you know deep down inside, you will have trouble sleeping at night until you extend that shroud up past the stern planes
But, you are lined up now where you can change it easily. And why not? extending the shroud forward like the real boat should not effect performance..
Do it, he whispers from the nightstand next to the bed...

No can do my Russian savy friend!
That would put a crimp on my intake flow again. That is why I moved it back.
Just think of this as the next generation of Kilo PJ subs.
            It is the Alrosa-2.
It was a top secret project known to only a few people. BD.
